Sam Abdulaziz has garnered a reputation over the course of almost three decades as one of the nation’s leading lecturers and writers in the field of construction law. As a widely published columnist and the author of two books on California construction law, Sam is in constant demand as a guest speaker by construction related organizations and is available to provide consultation or expert assistance in construction law litigation and representation.

Sam has litigated and arbitrated numerous construction cases and has served as the sole arbitrator on complex construction cases. He has also served as a judge pro tem in the court as well as a mediator for the appellate court.

While he is recognized and identified with his long-time standing as one of the foremost legal authorities in dealing with the California Contractors' State License Board, Sam is also acknowledged as an expert on construction law across the nation. He has served as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee to the Assembly Select Committee on construction issues. During this time he received a special public commendation for his exemplary record of leadership as Chairman of this Committee. His seminars and workshops on construction law have been accredited by the California State Bar for state mandated continuing education. On the local and statewide front, he serves as legal counsel for several construction related trade associations.

Sam often represents contractors in disciplinary cases where the License Board seeks to discipline a contractor.  Numerous attorneys refer such cases to Sam.

In January 2001, Sam Abdulaziz and Bruce Rudman were featured on the cover of Los Angeles Lawyer magazine that contained an article called “Hammering the Contractor” that was written by Sam and Bruce.

Elected officials and appointed members of various regulatory agencies commonly refer to Sam Abdulaziz on matters regarding the state’s contracting laws and regulations.  Sam’s testimony before the CSLB advocating the rights of contractors is always well received. He has also argued cases before the California Supreme Court, appellate courts, the Public Utilities Commission, and disciplinary tribunals.

Sam Abdulaziz has a prestigious statewide reputation in the field of construction law. He is a recognized authority on all phases of construction law, particularly vital topics such as mechanic’s liens, stop notices, payment bonds, regulations, and the enforcement of construction laws.  He has also appeared before the California Law Revision Commission advocating mechanic’s lien issues.

Sam Abdulaziz is also a popular lecturer and seminar presenter who has appeared before scores of national and state construction related organizations. Sam has lectured in California, Hawaii, Washington, Florida and Nevada on the subject of construction law.
